WPPI Convention and Trade Show
March 21, 2008 by HANNA gallery
The WPPI (Wedding and Portrait Photographers International) event is the largest professional photographer’s event in the country. This year it was held at the Paris and Bally’s Hotels in Las Vegas on March 13 through 20 (next year at the Vegas MGM Grand on Valentine’s day). This week-long event included 330 vendors and over 100 programs and workshops. This many photography vendors with product and prices to show all in one place is a dream for any shopper. Wow! This was our first time and most definitely not our last.
We had a photo shoot to do before we could attend, so we spent just three days there. We attended seminar after seminar, and of course, spent every available minute at the trade show in between (the Canon bar was sweet!). This was a hugely rewarding experience for us and next year we’ll be back for more. Besides all the mini-sessions at the Canon stage (Bob Davis was refreshing once again) and the Pictage booth and GraphiStudio booth (hi Lissa and Maureen), we attended programs by Yervant, Munoz, Buissink, Graf, and Reggie. Then, to top it all off, we spent more than our allowance on camera gear, software, and luggage. Jessica got her MacBook Pro and I got my Mark III (yyyesss!).
Lastly, we had so much fun seeing our friends and acquaintances that we see too seldom. See you all soon.
