Brad and Janean

We’ll be following Brad and Janean of Redding CA to the the beautiful California coast community of Mendocino on May 1st to photograph their wedding. Yesterday though, we had them for a couple of hours in the studio, and since the weather was so awesome we finished up the session with some outdoor work. Let me just say that it’s every photographer’s greatest dream to have an opportunity to photograph a couple who are totally in love, completely happy, and thoroughly comfortable in front of the camera. These guys are every photographer’s dream.

It is our great pleasure to introduce the future Mr. and Mrs Brad Maloney and to show off a few of our favorite photos from their engagement session:

Studio for Rent

1000 sf studio with lounge area, makeup/hair station and private bathroom/changing room

$20 an hour or $50 an hour with Elinchrom/Skyport studio lighting system (4X style 600RX and modifires as shown) and white vinyl and pink/black back drop system (two hour minimum).

Happy Valentines!

Happy Valentine’s day and a few shots of our evening out on the town last night.

Our first stop of the evening was to say hello to our dear friend Amy Jensen who was one of the Second Saturday Arthop featured artists. I doubt that doctor’s office has ever looked as good as it does right now with Amy’s photography work on the walls. Very nice work Amy! That’s Amy in the upper right photo (second from the right).

Then we were off to the Maritime restaurant for crab cakes, stuffed pork, corkage fees, and chocolate cake (because we were good the day before).

(L-R) Jessica, Allison, and Melissa (wife, girlfriend, girlfriend). You could say I was severely outnumbered here.

That’s our friend and Maritime restaurant owner Uni on the lower left. We always have our best evenings out when they’re spent at Maritime.

Outnumbered yes, but the envy of the entire restaurant!

Last month we held a contest for a free photo session for our facebook fans. Yesterday we chose Kellie Worstman of Redding as the winner, and you’ll see why after reading the very touching nomination sent in by her mother. We’re all totally looking forward to next week.

So, CONGRATULATIONS KELLIE! Let the fun begin!

Kellie Worstman – daughter of, and nominated by Debbie Worstman.

I would like to nominate my daughter, Kellie Worstman because she is one of the most kindhearted and helpful people I know. I am completely blind and I sometimes have to depend on others for assistance. Kellie is one of those people I can always count on at any given time; whether it is a quick trip to the store or a fun filled trip for me to be able to visit a friend who lives in another state. When we attend movies, ballet performances, and even the circus, she vividly describes the activity which provides for me an exact visualization of the event.

Other family members are also on the receiving end of Kellie’s generosity. She frequently washes her grandmother’s car because she has difficulty doing it on her own. Kellie has a busy schedule between work and school but she and her grandfather enjoy spending time together so she always makes sure to allot time for him. She will suddenly decide that “this is a good day for chocolate.” She then buys some and takes it to her sister, Crystal because she knows that “giving Crystal chocolate makes a happy day for Crystal.” The main reason I would like to see Kellie win this contest the most, is that it was our plan that when both my girls were seniors, they
would have a professional photo shoot done. But when the opportunity came along for Kellie to have hers done, it was during the weekend of her sister’s wedding. Her photos were taken the day after the wedding and there wasn’t enough time to give to this project. I know that this would be the photo shoot of Kellie’s dreams and since she has always wanted to have something like this, I do hope you will consider her as a winning candidate.

Often my daughter is willing to take a back seat so that others can reach their goal. So now let’s allow her to be front and center!
